2.4 GHz radio systems for RC cars
A radio system connects the driver’s transmitter to the receiver installed in the vehicle, controlling steering, throttle and any additional channels. Modern 2.4 GHz systems are convenient for driving alongside other users and do not require interchangeable frequency crystals.
Transmitters, receivers and protocols
A transmitter and receiver must use a compatible protocol. Systems from different manufacturers—or even different ranges from the same manufacturer—are not automatically compatible. Examples of protocol families include Spektrum DSM/DSMX, Futaba S-FHSS/T-FHSS and FlySky AFHDS/AFHDS 2A.

- model memories;
- fail-safe and telemetry functions where supported.
