The English Electric Lightning F.6
The Lightning entered RAF service during the 1960s as a Mach 2 interceptor. Its two turbojets were mounted vertically one above the other in the fuselage. The F.6 offered improved range, distinctive ventral tanks and enhanced operational capability.
