Which first ship model should you choose?

There is no single answer, but a few criteria can guide your decision. Consider a vessel with a relatively simple hull, one mast and manageable rigging. Some two-masted beginner kits can also be approachable.

Your first project should let you learn basic rigging and knots without becoming overwhelming. Also allow for tools and consumables in addition to the price of the kit.
