This ICM 1/48 kit recreates the distinctive British Handley Page Hampden B.Mk.I bomber. It contains approximately 350 parts, a detailed cockpit and crew stations, reproduced bomb bays and armament, and decals for four historical aircraft. The completed model is approximately 34.1 cm long with a 44.2 cm wingspan. Glue and paints are not included.
The twin-engined Hampden entered RAF service in 1938. Its very narrow fuselage earned it the nickname Flying Suitcase. It took part in early strategic bombing, night raids, maritime mining and anti-shipping operations before later serving as a torpedo bomber and maritime patrol aircraft.
